Edoardo Paluan participated in Entrepreneurs First Cohort 10 in London, where he co-founded Yo-Da with Benjamin Falk. During the program, they created the concept for Yo-Da, a general data protection agent that submits GDPR requests for individuals and helps them monetize their personal data. After completing the cohort and obtaining funding, they began building the company with a clear mission: to empower individuals to control their data in an increasingly digital world.
Globacap
At Globacap, Edoardo Paluan served as a Data Scientist, developing machine learning models and convolutional neural networks to extract financial data from Companies House filings. He created a product that automated the extraction of profit and loss statements and balance sheet information from submitted PDFs. This process included downloading documents, correcting scan defects, identifying target data, applying optical character recognition, and using natural language processing to organize the results into CSV format. His work greatly accelerated Globacap’s data processing workflows.
Mendeley Data
At Mendeley Data, Edoardo Paluan started his career as an engineer and went on to become a self-taught Machine Learning Engineer, where he contributed to building a platform designed to serve as the “Dropbox of data” for scientists. He later moved into a Product Management role and subsequently joined the core R&D team for a period, where he explored new approaches to improving scientific output and supporting academic research with data-driven solutions.
